Costume History Library.
Please come take a look! Our costume history library, with more than 4,000 illustrated volumes, is a unique source of inspiration. The library offers a book and catalog collection with illustrations from the past three centuries, which also includes hand tinted images and bound journals from all over the world. With our historic collection we offer our clients an unparalleled research base.
Always in search of the past, employees of Theaterkunst have collected pictures from magazines for over 60 years, which we have made available in a loose-leaf collection for our customers. Here, you will find relevant costume pictures and images from antiquity to the present, all of which would have been lost without us, in order to make your look back into the past more profound. Not everything is available online….
Our reference library is fully catalogued and tagged and includes the following categories:
- Costume Design
- Uniform Design
- Fashion Design
- Sketches and illustrations (drawings, stage and costume designs)
- Traditional and national costumes
- Bound magazines beginning from the end of the 18th century.
